Desborough Library closing for now...
DLCH has taken the decision, after much discussion over the weekend, to close Desborough Library with immediate effect.
KBC and DTC have been informed and measures are being put in place by both to provide telephone support. NCC is also aware and supports our decision.
This wasn't something we took lightly and over the past few weeks, we have increased our cleaning schedule to help keep our beloved library open so people could still visit.
We will continue to post ideas for people to do at home and we are thinking about ways to provide some sort of service, but we have to consider this carefully and are also waiting for today's briefing from No. 10.
The NCC libraries are still open as of this morning although there are staffing issues, and some community libraries are open too - all this can change very quickly though.
NCC has set all renewal dates to 11th. June lat week so there is no problems regarding fines or with returning books, and the reservation system has been disabled so nothing can be requested. The June date will be reviewed as time goes by.
If you have any questions at all, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. It is easier to keep tabs on than messaging or comments, so we would appreciate it if you would email, but we will be checking messages.
We thank you all for supporting the library and we are looking forward to being back as soon as we can. Our thanks also go to Abbi and the volunteers who have done their very best to keep the library open for as long as they could.
Take care, keep safe.
